Cape Fear Vocational Consultant Kevin Cook made a presentation on the principles of disability employment for community partners in Southeast Asia.
The December 18th webinar was attended by Asia Pacific Center for Disability, Yayasam Autisma Indonesia, Terapeutik, Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia, and individuals with disabilities and their families.
The focus was on techniques for effective job coaching, strategies for successful long-term employment, and the global applicability of strong vocational principles.
Kevin coordinated with Yayasam Autisma Indonesia regarding the creation of a pre-employment training for people in Indonesia. He is also working with Yayasam to develop a collaboration between North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation and the Indonesian government as they seek to develop a new disability employment government program.
