Vocational Services Begins Operations in Guilford County
by Kevin Cook, Director of Vocational Services
On February 16th, Cape Fear Vocational Services began operations in Guilford County. I am personally excited to begin this venture and to conduct our operations with honesty and integrity. Our team’s past success with The North Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation provides us with a strong reputation with which to build our program on. We have currently hired three job coaches and one office manager and have received 17 client referrals for service during our first two weeks.
We established training partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, Blessed Table, The Barnebus Network, and Morningview Nursing Home that allow us to evaluate the vocational strengths and needs of the people we serve. Every day, job coaches and myself are making new connections with employers that will lead to long term employment for our clients. I believe we are off to a wonderful start and I feel optimistic about our ability to give strength and hope to people with disabilities and help them find vocational success.
